MIX: Vice x Bloc Party Mix

Vice has a mix from Top Billin, all Bloc Party tunes and the like:

‘We took on making a mix with that punk attitude, keeping the dynamics there so that it wouldn’ t be too smooth operator mix, but have that rock feel in it. The tracks in the mix are all related in Bloc Party, influences and tracks that they’ ve covered (like Prince) and of course kool tunes that are named block party. Hopefully you’ ll dig it.’

RIP Ron Asheton – Founding Stooges Member Found Dead

Iggy and the Stooges remain one of my all time favorites and count as one of the sounds that blew my mind apart and sealed the deal that I would forever be indebted to rocknroll. I’m very sad to report on Ron’s passing…

Klaxons, Rapture, Dino Jr. on indie radio comp

Three classic albums followed before Barlow was acrimoniously ejected after 1988's Bug, moving on to form indie legends Sebadoh. 'Dinosaur Jr' continued as the vehicle for Mascis's fret flurries through the artistically successful Green Mind and commmercially fulfilling ...

Dinosaur Jr. – Nike collab

Proto-grunge rockers Dinosaur Jr. surprised some folks when they reunited 2 years ago. Now they have their own Nike shoe. This from a band who probably couldn't be bothered to wear Doc Martins. I loved Dinosaur Jr as a youth, and still rate Green Mind and You're Living All Over Me somewhere in my top 100 ever. But J Mascis is the only interview i ever hung up on (he was being a real tool) and I've been kinda sour on 'em since. I'll wait for the Rage Against the Machine limited flip-flop, a'ight?
