Def Jux chief El-P drops his new album I'll Sleep When I'm Dead in less than two weeks, but today he's dropping bombs on his former employers over at Rawkus. In any angry rant on his blog El-Producto took Rawkus to task for ragging on him for taking this picture with Puffy.
With line's like “these twisted, corrupted shit eaters who stole money from everyone they worked with” his rant's pretty darned good.

The FCC, the big four record companies, the big four radio companies and the pretentiously abbreviated American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) reached a deal involving a $12.5 million fine for payola and a promise of free air time for independent music.
This deal should allow a wider variety of sounds and artists onto the airwaves, but with everything easily accessible online it might not be a big win for the indie labels or the radio stations. It certainly wont spell the end of payola, that fun major label hobby of paying radio stations to play their songs. It's been going on since the earliest days of broadcasting and a $12.5 fine isn't likely to slow down the major record labels or the radio conglomerates who actually have to shell out the cash.
