Monareta is Andres Martinez and Camilo Sanabria, and “Picotero” is 2008’s best album you never heard of. The Colombian electronic duo’s U.S. debut is a fusion of styles that will get your head nodding and your feet moving. The album’s diversity is incredible. “Llama” combine reggae, dub and cumbia influences over a pulsing beat, while “Domingo Loving Style” sounds like something Aphex Twin or Daedelus could have made after getting trashed at a bar in Tijuana.
