Crystal Fighters’ New Mixtape Has Us Dreaming Away (MP3)

Punky and island-influenced in their incarnation as a seven-piece, London-based act Crystal Fighters are also somewhat known for a slew of remixes they’ve contributed to. Wether its their clap-laden, pared-down treatment of Two Door Cinema Club’s guitar pop or the emphasized baila funke tinges on their approach to CSS‘ “Let’s Reggae All Night”, the Fighters take great pains to secure that their ventures away from the strictly “rock” genre are worthy of the same compliments that once had them called “the single most exciting show in dance music” (high praise if you ask us!).

Quiero Club – “Minutos de Aire” (Video)

With their vintage synths, a knack for electronic sounds and weaving melodies, Quiero Club opened for Depeche Mode to a huge crowd of 60,000 at Foro Sol in Mexico City, and here they are with single “Minutos de Aire.” This art-school quintet from Monterrey, Mexico released its sophomore record, Nueva America, earlier this month, and it is a critical and popular sensation. Singing in both English and Spanish, the band’s sound is somewhere between CSS and the YYYs. I have listened to this album everyday for the past week…
