This weekend was filled with great joy for many Coachella fans, and great sorrow for many more as the annual Southern California festival sold out all of the tickets for both weekends in record time. After last year’s record breaking sell-out for one weekend, Coachella added a second identical weekend event to double the amount of tickets available to fans. We’ve lost track of how many times Diplo has appeared on the Coachella stage over the year, first as tour DJ for M.I.A. in 2006, and at least once with his own act, Major Lazer. Throw in at least one solo DJ set in 2008, and you’d think he’d be a pretty big fan of the annual festival. Apparently he’s a bigger fan of talking trash on Twitter, like he did yesterday when he tweeted: “
“Maybe I’m just throwing shade but ‘Coachsmella’ looks pretty lame this year. You used to be a place to check out new bands/music.
“Besides Snoop and Dre that’s boss shit right there. Its like bootleg Ultra with a few bands that are safe.”

Coachella has announced their 2012 line-up, which will take place for the first time over two weekend, Apr 13-15 and 20-22. Radiohead, Dr. Dre & Snoop and The Black Keys all signed on for headline spots, along with Swedish House Mafia, Justice, Kaskade and DJ Shadow. The big reunion for 2012 is So Cal post-emo legends At The Drive-In.

Now Daniel Brandt, Jan Brauer and Paul Frick have taken their genre-defying experiment to the next level with the Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble.
