STREAM Just Blaze Remix of Cajmere “Brighter Days” (MP3)

Chicago techno legend Green Velvet has been revisting his fuzzier alter-ego Cajmere lately, issuing a mammoth two disco compilation of hits and remixes titled, It’s Time, which featured a gang of remixes of proto-juke hit “Percolator” by Major Lazer, Claude Von Stroke, Riva Starr and Gant-Man. Now the textile-loving producer has handed over diva-house smash “Brighter Days” to ace hip-hop producer Just Blaze, who backs the soulful vocals by Dajae with a stomping tribal house tempo boom-clap, with more cymbal crashes than the “1812 Overture.” The single also comes with an electro-tinged “8 to 8 Dub Mix,” but check out Just Blaze’s ‘The reOPENed 3am’ mix right here.

Adam Freeland :: Late Night Deepness (Podcast)

Adam Freeland

Leaning Into The Ring Of Fire

Since he released his renowned debut mix CD, Coastal Breaks, in 1996, Adam Freeland has represented change, innovation and irreverence in electronic music, always refusing to be pinned down to genres. Since the release of second artist album Copeā„¢ in 2009, he is back in the studio producing new music for his own label Marine Parade.

This new mix shows a change of style for Freeland, with an eclectic selection of sounds that represent the kind of music this club dominating DJ plays when he’s off the clock and looking for something deeper.

A who's who of what one with an open-mind should check out at this fest.

The second annual Electric Zoo festival experience (provided by the lovely people at Made Event) is hitting New York City’s Randall’s Island once again this weekend and anyone who loves bass in their face is more than thrilled at this point. Sure we have the commercial big-name acts such as Armin, Benny Benassi and Major Lazer headlining the festivities, but what about the acts that are on the bill that aren’t plastered all over the Beatport charts and regurgitated by Jersey Shore culture? Here’s the five under-the-radar acts that you should check out at the Zoo. Picks after the jump.
