DOWNLOAD Immortal Technique :: ‘The Martyr’ Mix Tape (MP3)

Firebrand MC Immortal Technique dropped his latest thought-bomb today via his Viper Records website. The Martyr features IT’s always activist rhymes, along with guests Chuck D, Brother Ali, Killer Mike, dead prez, Vinnie Paz, Joell Ortiz and a dozen other collaborators all flowing over beats mostly by Southpaw, with occasional contributions from J. Dilla, DJ Greenlantern, Slimfass, Shuko, The Molemen and Engineer.

WATCH Portishead “Mysterons” & “Chase The Tear” On Fallon (Video)

Portishead are known for taking their sweet time. The Bristol trio’s third album, Third, was released in 2008, 11 years after their second, self-titled album. And unlike any other band we can think of after that long of a hiatus, it was as if they didn’t miss a beat.

Last night, the group appeared on Jimmy Fallon, following last week’s gig at ATP, which featured a guest spot by Chuck D. Fallon marks their first U.S. television appearance since 1998 on SNL. They were “promoting” their Amnesty International benefit single, “Chase The Tear,” which actually came back out in 2009.

Chuck D Joins Portishead Onstage “Machine Gun x Black Steel” (Video)

Simeon From Silver Apples Also Takes Stage With The Bristol Trio. 

Fan who caught Portishead‘s performance this weekend at ATP were given a real treat when the band was joined onstage by Public Enemy‘s Chuck D. The hip-hop legend hit the stage halfway through “Machine Gun,” the hair-raising highlight from Portishead’s 2008 album, Third. From there, he busted out several verses from the Nation Of Millions classic “Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos.” Apparently the government is still suckas.

Public Enemy In D.C. (Video)

On November 18th, Virgin Mobile brought Public Enemy to D.C. for a good cause. To celebrate the three year anniversary of National Homeless Awareness Month designated by Congress through the efforts of the RE*Generation, Virgin Mobile’s charity arm. Proceeds from the event went to benefiting homeless youth, helping them keep warm, and giving back to the Sasha Bruce House, where a young person who needs a place to stay- for any reason- can find a home here.

Virgin Mobile sponsored an early Thanksgiving dinner at the Sasha Bruce House with Public Enemy, with a tour of the shelter and participated in a Q&A session with the kids and press.
