The Muppets x Cee Lo (minus Cee Lo) in “Forget You” (Video)

Remember when the Muppets performed with Cee Lo Green and Gwyneth Paltrow at the 2011 Grammys. Now, the Muppets have done it again with this exclusive collaboration with Cee Lo Green …. oh wait, no, I’m sorry, apparently Cee Lo Green was late to the recording studio so he was replaced him with the best breasts in the music industry. Ladies and gentlemen, performing “Forget You” is none other then the great, the sexy, the”Princesses of Poultry” themselves, Camilla and the Chickens!!!!

Kanye, Arcade Fire, Steve Wonder :: 22 Bands We Loved At Austin City Limits

Austin, Texas survived her 10th year of the Austin City Limits festival. Thousands of Austinites and tourists flooded into Zilker Park last weekend for food, drink and, most of all, the sweet sound of music. C3 productions, the producers of this three-day event, thankfully worked out some of the kinks that plagued the festival in years past. In collaboration with Austin Parks and Recreation, C3 contributed to an irrigation system for Zilker, eliminating the “Dust Bowl” phenomenon two years ago. Adequate water filling stations, misters and an ingenious recycling system (fill a bag, get a free T-shirt) all contributed to pleasant and uplifting experience much needed by the folks in Central Texas recently ravaged by wildfires.

Cee-Lo’s Private Performance at The W NYC (Video)

I busted my ass last night to get up to Manhattan in time for this nice little soiree Cee-Lo and company hosted at The W Hotel to celebrate Tuesday’s release of The Lady Killer. After consuming my fair share of free drinks and waiting around with the photographers for James Woods to stop circling the block and (presumably) blazing up, the lights dimmed, curtains raised, and Cee-Lo Green busted out key selections from his back catalogue before running through the better part of the new album. His performance of my favorite cut from it is down bottom. “Bright Lights Bigger City,” “Fool For You,” and “Fuck You” are all after the jump.

Cee-Lo Green – The Lady Killer (Review)

Cee-Lo Green

The Lady Killer

Released by Elektra/Atlantic

His second album was called Cee-Lo Green Is The Soul Machine. Now that I've got the chance to hear his latest, something tells me that perhaps it might have been more appropriate to save that title for this release. That isn't to say that the current title isn't fitting in it's own right. In fact, The Lady Killer almost actually warrants the classification of a concept album. Right off the bat, Cee-Lo's soothing voice quickly turns sinister on the intro as he growls, "when it comes to ladies, I have ...

URB Exclusive: Phenomenal Handclap Band’s “The Journey To Serra Da Estrella” Remixed by Fujiya + Miyagi (MP3)

This version keeps “The Journey…” a full-on Prog-Rock freak-out — which, in addition to three hyphenated words in a row, means lotsa just-behind-the-beat drum fills and some spacey 70s keyb modules. The helicopter blade + cosmic swirl opening make for a sandstorm-on-Mars kinda feel, before going into a Sci-Fi, ascending synth over a stomping rhythm, which winds in and out of dubby interludes (wish they were longer) and tight, stop-start keyb punctuation…all of which instantly reminded me of a treasured disc from the 90s — “Gong: You Remixed”, that I wish I had on vinyl, specifically the track “A Sprinkling of Clouds” (full-length edit). The mighty Steve Hillage should have a go at this number. …MORE
