Calvin Harris: Ready For The Weekend …. and Robbie Williams

Scottish producer Calvin Harris recently told video blog ITN Music that he would love to work with Robbie Williams, who he refers to as ‘an icon’ and ‘one of Britain’s treasures’. Harris goes on to assert that pop stars are a rare breed these days and that Williams fits the mold with a ‘great voice and a great personality.’ Harris, who is becoming a pop star in his own right, overcame any notion of a “sophomore slump”, when his recently released Ready For The Weekend debuted at number one on the British pop charts.

Bikini Beats – Calvin Harris Makes A Humanthesizer

Ut oh. Another reason to work out… A LOT.
With electro tunes, ecstasy and Sparks, there isn’t much reason needed for nu rave kids to shed their clothes and rub up against each other on the dance floor, but Calvin has created another reason to wear nothing but one of those lame American Apparel bikinis – to actually create music.
Of course, when I lay down tracks in the studio, my models will all look like Rufus Sewell…but it’s all about the music.
Read more below about Harris’ Humanthesizer:

Humanthesizer, a unique human synthesizer. The instrument employs 15 bikini clad models and a new electric body ink developed by students at the Royal College of Art, London.
The new ink, when painted on the skin, allows a current to be passed through the body without causing …

Mid-Tale Coachella

Gravy and cheese smothered hashbrowns boiling in my stomach after Denny’s, driving up and down the 111 looking for Cree Street. We listened to my Ghostland Observatory CD three times (I refused anything else) and drove from Rancho Mirage to Twin Palms, Desert Palms, and at least two other palm tree derived oases before finding Cree Street, two blocks from where we had breakfast a full digestion ago.

Destination: Anthem party. Three spiked Fizzee drinks, one free LeSportsac and two pictures with a live donkey on a fake beach set later, I got to stick a toe in a pool full of inflatable wonders before having to jet to a Sasha and Digweed interview. This whole day can be organized in a series of dipping my face, my hand, Maybe half my body into one place …

Calvin Harris: Bad Influencer

Having already created disco, Calvin Harris aims to win over the States (by Brandon Perkins)

Calvin Harris’s jokes absolutely bombed onstage, Friday night at the Echo. in his debut LA performance, the crowd turned tangibly hostile during his monologues about “Fruitenant Captain Zesty” and Indie 103, angrily throwing ice, crumpled flyers and whatever else their pissed-off little fingers could find, as the 6-plus-foot Harris drunkenly mumbled through jokes that were falling on deaf, deaf ears. For five minutes, each and every time, he’d ramble on and on and on and on, and people weren’t having any of it, threatening to head for the door on each failed punchline.

Then he’d twist a knob and motherfuckers danced like they had just grown legs. Then the bottom would fall out of hits like “Acceptable in the ’80s” and motherfuckers would dance even harder. Giant smiles and waving hands seemed to pogostick to the ceiling like some little hipster, …
