BURNIN’ UP: Cid Rim Exclusive Interview + Mix (MP3)

If you don’t know Cid Rim yet, considered yourself lost in life. Vienna-based producer extraordinaire Clemens Bacher has been making drum rolls sexy and funk beats heartfelt for a while now, both solo as well as with the likes of friends Dorian Concept and The Clonious. Churning out tunes steadily since 2010, the 25-year old producer has found his footing within the vibes convention that is LuckyMe. Considering how much URB love has given to LuckyMe, we jumped at the chance to ask the powers that be if Clemens could contribute a mix for our Burnin’ Up series. BURNIN’ UP: NHK’Koyxen Exclusive Mix (MP3)

Kouhei Matsunaga took his time into settling into his most recent guise, NHK’Koyxen, as he only took up the name in 2009. After a lengthy run of releases on different aliases and a veritable amount of labels (Tigerbeat6, Deserted Factory, PARA Disc, Important Records, etc.), he has found a home at PAN, a London-based label that aims to expand the experimental world of electronics and beyond in a context that’s proper and progressive at the same time. With releases from Ben Vida and contributions from SND, Matsunaga’s “Dance Classics Vol. 1″ release is an album that engages listeners in his personal viewpoints on dance music and how it should be interpreted. With that said, he has contributed a lengthy mix to URB’s Burnin’ Up series, as well as an interview to accompany it. Check out the mix and interview after the jump.

BURNIN’ UP: Darling Farah Exclusive Mix (MP3)

4AM ladykilling vibes all the way from Abu Dhabi.

Kamau Baaqi is not your typical 19-year old. Relocating from Detroit to Abu Dhabi at an early age, the young man known as Darling Farah has ushered in a sound that’s disallowed in the United Arab Emirates, therefore all the music he makes goes somewhere else; something called the Internet. Enter 2011, where Darling Farah has released the sensually emotive Exxy EP on the fantastic Civil Music label. The release is a wave of lush techno and house grooves that make you eye that special someone across the club, locking eyes and letting nature take its course. Needless to say, that’s the type of music that everyone can all enjoy. With more releases in the pipeline as well as an upcoming relocation to London (where his sound will be more than welcomed), Darling Farah has all the right gears going for him. He gave URB an exclusive mix of solely his own productions for our Burnin’ Up series, and we’re more than excited we can share it with the world. London is calling, Kamau (as well as the rest of the world). Tracklist and download link after the jump.

BURNIN’ UP: Svpreme Fiend (MP3)

Mystery in the mix.

Welcome to BURNIN’ UP, URB’s foray into the producers surfacing from the underground, from wherever they may lie. As mysterious as that introductory statement sounds, it’s got nothing on our featured producer: Svpreme Fiend. Truly a mystery man, the producer is somewhere in New York trying to find his voice somewhere in the endless abyss between the sounds of broken-hearted vocal samples and percussive storytelling; inside his productions are undeniable journeys of self-realization and self-preservation, touching upon roots in hip-hop, house and dark UK Garage. Signed to the burgeoning Local Action Records label last year, he joined a roster that has now grown exponentially into something truly delving into the deepest and darkest parts of genres, whether it’s rooted in techno, funky, or any sort of enigmatic sound. The label …
