Skyzoo & Illmind

Live From The Tapedeck

Released by Duck Down Records

One man's take should never be a definitive verdict on an artistic endeavor, especially if you have even the slightest inclination towards serving up soup cans on a canvas yourself. The fact is, critical reads are a must in these day-late/dollar-short days, even when most blog-savvy 12-year olds know how to pirate the latest album, DVD or video game in 20 keystrokes or less. Hip Hop Karaoke Championship 2010

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, even if you're mimicking lyrics about Rosa Parks

The show this Friday night at New York’s Irving Plaza will be live. Maybe not live in the sense where real instruments will be played, but live as in on stage and in your face. It’s time for the 5th annual Hip Hop Karaoke Championships. The remaining 12 finalists have been chosen and the tracks, which range from Big Daddy Kane (who will be at the event as one of the judges) to Madvillian/MF Doom to Juvenile, are in place for the livest performer to win the grand prize of $1,000 and title of Hip Hop Karaoke Champion.

Along with Big Daddy Kane will be …
