Da Mayor thinks Chicago’s night life is great, but his plan to create “Event Promoters Licenses” is about to shut all but the biggest players out of the game. At Hizzoner, Richard M. Daley’s behest, the Chicago City Council Committee on License and Consumer Protection will hold a hearing Wednesday on creating a new license for event promoters with a set of requirements that will make it too expensive for all but the biggest of promoters to throw events.

Who’s excited for DJ Hero? The highly anticipated game released a trailer featuring Daft Punk, with the famed DJs mashing their “Robot Rock” with Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” Just a hint at the endless possibilities of cross-genre mash-ups? The trailer reveals that Queen, No Doubt, Gary Numan, N.A.S.A., Beastie Boys, and Young MC are all up for grabs. As for the rest of the avatars (DJ Shadow, Z-Trip, and DJ AM, to name a few), we’ll see on Oct 27th, when DJ Hero is released!
