Rhymesayers isn’t wasting any time bringing some heat to 2012. The Minneapolis hip-hop institution woke up after vacation, log on to their YouTube channel, and uploaded this new clip by Brother Ali, “Writer’s Block.” The tune features a firey boom-bap beat from producer Jake One that has us drooling over the collaborative album set to drop later this year.
Firebrand MC Immortal Technique dropped his latest thought-bomb today via his Viper Records website. The Martyr features IT’s always activist rhymes, along with guests Chuck D, Brother Ali, Killer Mike, dead prez, Vinnie Paz, Joell Ortiz and a dozen other collaborators all flowing over beats mostly by Southpaw, with occasional contributions from J. Dilla, DJ Greenlantern, Slimfass, Shuko, The Molemen and Engineer.
You can DOWNLOAD The Martyr at ViperRecords.com, and check out “Civil War” featuring Chuck D, Brother Ali and Killer Mike after the jump, along with The Martyr tracklist and tour dates.

Before our conversation, I listened to the new album, watched the video for DoomTree’s “Drumsticks” a million times. I’ll have to wait a month or two till he comes to play West Hollywood to shout it at him at a show. At at 28, he’s already logged a considerable amount of time in the studio, and four hundred plus some odd tracks which is definitely a professional average. Spin has even called him a child prodigy, various mainstream media corporate outlets bowed at his feet as well in previous write-ups. He was down for the exchange, and I was unbelievably ill. It was decided via text message would be mutually beneficial way to proceed.
