Let The Children Techno

Released by Ed Banger Records

“Admit it, deep inside you’ve always thought of BUSY P as Santa Claus to Ed Banger’s North Pole. And you knew DJ MEHDI was kind of the African cousin to the Whipping Father. Well, guess what? This winter they gathered their favourite newcomers, added a couple of old-timers, mixed them together and cooked the best holiday electronic dish. A brand new compilation of all fresh and unreleased music, down and up-tempo, love and dub-step, warm and cold-beats, and more international than Jesus. Just like the season.” - Pedro Winter [http://busyp.coolcats.fr/2011/01/let-the-children-techno-4/] Compilation ...

Egyptrixx – Start From The Beginning (PREMIERE) + Exclusive Interview (Video)

The current wave of electronic artists range from the wickedly fresh to the bizarre; with genres that occupy the umbrella of worldwide sounds coming together on a dance it can be difficult to find a stand-alone identity in the midst of it all. Then there’s Egyptrixx, a Toronto-based producer that has made massive steps in securing a dark, foreboding sound in supposedly house tempos. While he’s been on a fantastic remix tip (ranging from Subeena, The Aikiu, Brodinski) it’s his original productions that spark up something…different on a floor (i.e. “Liberation Front). The sound embodied is dark, moody and powerful, striking chords with people who want something more out of their night on the floor. With a rampant international fanbase, Egyptrixx plays out constantly live and each performance changes from the next, with something to look forward to every time out. Finally, in 2011, his album Bible Eyes will be released on the almighty Night Slugs label. Luckily for URB, Egyptrixx not only took the time to answer a few questions, but also premiere a scintillating music video highlighting a piece from his upcoming album. Check out “Start From The Beginning” and the interview after the jump.

URB Presents Bok Bok: Night Sluggin’ Mix Exclusive & Upcoming Tour Dates (MP3)

The young label Night Slugs has been on a tear lately, with a successful first release highlighting Mosca (along with a string of fantastic remixes) and an upcoming release from Canadian smash-master Egyptrixx that will shake your brain into bass oblivion. Along with vocal reminders from MC Jammer, Bok Bok guides us through a maddening and rhythmically fruitful journey between cracking synth lines and hypnotic drum patterns in a mix that’s sure to break your speakers. Bugged Out! Presents Suck My Deck Mixed By Brodinski

The hour long set mixed by DJ Brodinski features hectic, head-pounding electro and house, as would be expected from one of the up and coming stars of French electronica scene. At times, the set tends to drone on, but it's forgivable granted the beats he picks are solid and each track is blended well: it's hard not to appreciate its dance-floor appeal, something we can trust Brodinski knows all about. All in all this mix is enough to have anyone dancing, as it mixes larger names with the ...
