For the band that needs no introduction, Spoon recently stopped by Canada’s QTV and performed “The Mystery Zone” off of Transference. Not only is it a delight to hear a track other than “Written in Reverse,” but the ease with which they flip between acoustic and full-on rock-out sessions is only one of the reasons this home-grown bunch is coasting.

Looks like Bradford Cox of Deerhunter is getting his wish fulfilled cause the band will be touring with Spoon over the next few months. Micachu and the Shapes and Strange Boys join in on the action for select dates. Remember, Spoon’s Transference comes out next week, but you can stream the whole thing at NPR now. I’m going to totally agree with The Tripwire on this one:
“This looks like cover art more suitable for a Vampire Weekend release than a Spoon full-length. Britt Daniel doesn’t pout nor does he slouch in fancy chairs. But maybe he really digs on Harold and Maude. Who knows. Not that important.”
Yep, just feeding the blogosphere, but I am very excited to get my hands on this record!
