Having listened to STS9’s albums multiple times, working through their dense instrumentation and well-crafted harmonies on several occasions, this still proved to be very little in preparing me for their live performance. Tomorrow night is a big night for artist Codak; his first solo show in Los Angeles will be opening at the Archrival Boutique. Titled ‘Found Angles,’ Codak takes us on a journey through various mediums with his mind-blowing yet meticulous skills in graffiti, mixed media, and graphic design this is one show you don’t want to miss. Music will be provided by tRUEradio MHZ and fifty-limited edition three-color silkscreen signed and numbered prints will be for sale. Wale and Sitek have completed two tracks together. Antibalas alums Stuart Bogie and Todd Simon play horns on the tracks, while Breakestra’s Dave Chegwidden plays congos. Rock star poet Saul Williams May handle the hook on one, and TVOTR frontman Tunde Adebimpe May sing on the other. Tre, frontman for the go-go band UCB (also doing some work with Sitek, according to Wale’s manager) helped with melodies and horn arrangements.
