Fedde le Grande Launches FLG TV (Video)

There’s no better place to stay up-to-date with Fedde le Grand than his brand spankin’ new channel on YouTube. Apparently, he’s been recording HD video footage the world over. Underworld Interview: Interview with Karl Hyde

In 1980 when Karl Hyde and Rick Smith first got together in Cardiff, England, MP3s, iPods, even MTV didn’t exist, and Apple computer was in the middle of a lawsuit with the Beatles’ Apple record label. The experimental electronic band by Hyde and Smith was formed but undefined; the name was represented by an abstract squiggle and pronounced “Freur.” By the time “Born Slippy” appeared on the Trainspotting soundtrack and DJ Darren Emerson joined and left, Underworld had burned through several genres, line-ups, and personal dramas, marking their evolution with Underworld MK1-3 sub-brands. This summer Underworld releases its back catalogue on iTunes, launches an iPhone application and aims to stream a live concert to Apple’s ubiquitous handsets. Daft Punk, Carl Cox, Best of 25 years

UK clubbing bible Mixmag celebrated their astonishing 25th Anniversary this year. To celebrate, The mag ran an online Best of 25 Year Poll, which found Carl Cox the #1 DJ, Daft Punk the #1 dance act and Underworld’s “Born Slippy” the best track for a quarter-century. Not bad selections.

The issue features a cover not disimilar to URB’s own 15 Year Anniversary gatefold, collecting 25 dance legends, including Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, Basement Jaxx, LCD Soundsystem, The Prodigy, Moby, Mylo, Richie Hawtin, Dizzee Rascal, Paul van Dyk, Goldie, Sven Vath, Felix Da Housecat, Erick Morillo, Sasha, Faithless and Underworld.
