Boom Bip We Love To Shop (Teen Dance Remix)

This new remix from Boom Bip might sound like some sort of tween nightmare. But it’s in fact a remix for the theme to OMG BFF LOL, an animated project by artist Charlie White currently showing at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. Which in a way makes it cool. But it still has that jokey vibe ala Tiga’s “Shoes,” which will evidentally be all the rage this year.

Chromeo vs. Neon Neon (Dave P speaks)

Chromeo’s Dave One has issued a remark:

“This is kind of funny… Our photographer Matt Barnes got his hands on a Delorean, suggested we pose with it and we ran with the idea, not knowing that Neon Neon had done the same thing before (sorry fellas)! Sacchrilege EP

Released by Lex

A disclaimer: This isn't exactly a downtempo EP. You're probably wondering why I included it then. The reason is simple. Boom Bip has pulled a DJ Shadow, ditching his depressing downbeat reputation for banging new-wave/disco-punk instrumentals--overstuffed with slamming synths, clanging cowbells and even some minimal techno undertones ('One of Eleven'). Um, long-player please?

The heart and soul of electronics come to life

Boom Bip has been producing emotive electronic music that bridges the gap between Boards of Canada, indie avant-hop and Aphex Twin for a while now. Coming up in the relatively unexciting Midwestern confines of Cincinnati, a recent move to the endless summer of Southern California has had a subtle but profound affect on his music. While tinges of IDM still linger (the Autechre-ish "The Move"), sun-drenched epics like "Do's and Don'ts" reference TV on the Radio with spooky choirs ...
