RBMA Presents DARK DISCO: Gerd Janson, Metro Area & Night Slugs – Tomorrow (Video)

Tomorrow at 88 Palace isn’t just any old edition of Dark Disco; sure the residents (DKDS) and decor will be in place but the lineup is something to behold, thanks to the likes of Red Bull Music Academy being in town. Not only is the live debut of Gerd Janson (Tuff City Kids) at hand, but Metro Area will be in full-force; presenting their live show after a decade of radio silence in the performance department. Even more so, Night Slugs head honchos Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 will be there to give their own definitive take on “club music” for a special set. Get your dim sum and club constructions on, tomorrow night on East Broadway. Check out the flyer and a preview of what’s to come, after the jump.

S!CK Presents A Night Slugs Invasion In Brooklyn On September 29th (Video)

S!CK is continuing their long-line of scintillating stack-a-thon events with a takeover, courtesy of Night Slugs co-founders Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990. However, if you think this will be regular club night out, you’d be wrong. S!CK’s reputation for independent electronic abundance provides a broad spectrum of party-genre specification, as evident by their eclectic lineups. The lineup for this week’s party is no exception with support coming from the S!CK residents (THOMAϟϟ/Rezzie), MikeQ (Fade To Mind/Mad Decent), Slava (Future Timess/!K7) and Pictureplane (Love Pump United). Yeah, it’s a lot to take in. So better yet, we’ll have you check out the flyer below post-jump along with the link to presale tickets.

Contakt & Mayster Present An Exclusive Mix via Dutty Artz (MP3)

Some dancefloor madness from two burgeoning producers on a wicked label.

It’s been a wild ride for TURRBOTAX residents Contakt and Mayster. While both producers have been part of running one of the most-lauded and eccentric monthly events in New York, they’ve also been hard at work making some serious bass-y business. Earlier in 2011, we were treated to Contakt’s debut release, Not Forgotten on the distinguished Local Action label. This time around on the all-encompassing Dutty Artz label, they bring us their newest output, Korak, which is a progressive stance on the sounds both Contakt and Mayster have been experiencing sonically on the floor as well as their own environments. Strong from start to finish, the EP is only a teaser of what’s to come from each producer. To celebrate its release –along with giving them an excuse to jam out some exclusive cuts– they’ve given URB a mix exclusive,  thanks in big part to the lovely people at Dutty Artz. Peep the mix and tracklist down below.
