For over 15 years, New York trio Blonde Redhead have been making some of the most passionate and dreamy guitar music in indie-rockerdom. Now the group has essembled a selection of remixes by Salem, Gayngs, Pantha Du Prince, Becoming Real, Kastellet and Games for a free EP that tranforms tunes from last year’s Penny Sparkle album without losing any of the beauty of the originals. A welcome addition to an utterly stellar catalog.

For the double-disc edition of their new album Sisterworld (out March 9 on Mute), Liars called on a bunch of friends to “reinterpret” the tracks from the album. Friends like Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, and Bradford Cox of Deerhunter/Atlas Sound. And Blonde Redhead frontwoman Kazu Makino, whose take on “Drip” you can hear right here, right now.

Details of an expanded edition of Liars’ Sisterworld, which is due for release on Mute on March 9, have emerged. The two-disc set will include remixes of all 11 tracks from the main album, with Thom Yorke, Tunde Adebimpe (TV On The Radio), Bradford Cox (Deerhunter / Atlas Sound), Melvins, Alan Vega (Suicide), Chris & Cosey (Throbbing Gristle) and Blonde Redhead all getting involved. C3, the masterminds behind Lollapalooza has teamed up with Southern Comfort premium liqueur, to present music lovers with the SoCo Music Experience, a U.S. nationwide mega concert festival headlined by chart-topping musicians—at least 10 acts in one day. The only requirement is being at least 21 and having a vaild I.D.
Along with the concerts, visitors can partake in a host of extracurricular activities, food, video games and fashion vendors on site.
The SoCo Music Experience festival tour will touchdown in the following cities this summer:

There was supposed to be photos with these interviews, but there's a universal problem that has nothing to do with faulty USB chords…people look beat up in this heat. And who wants to be frozen into something that's worth a thousand words when the first two are “beat up”? Blonde Redhead's Kuzo Makino is gorgeous regardless of the elements, but she wasn't trying to pose for a photo before their night set on day two. She did talk to us though, and this is how it went:
