Grammy Award winning jazz saxophonist Gary Bartz began making waves on the jazz scene during its prime in New York City and never slowed down. Mr. Bartz was formally trained at Julliard; however, it’s the time alongside jazz greats like Miles Davis, Charles Mingus and McCoy Tyner that has placed him as a legend in the game. R&B icon, Bilal, serves as featured vocalist for the Gary Bartz Project, and for this special night only, soul sensation and 2006 RBMA Participant, Aloe Blacc, will join them on stage.

Stimulus & Chris Dave – 3rd 1st Impression Mixtape (MP3)

Drummer Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave and emcee Stimulus have joined forces for their first collaborative mixtape “3rd 1st Impression.” The project is out today via a free download. The mixtape is produced entirely by Chris Dave (Maxwell, Dr. Dre) and features Stimulus on the mic, Chris Dave on drums, and features from Bilal, Renee Neufville, Stokley (of Mint Condition) and Casey Benjamin. The tape features woozy house grooves with R&B undertones, throwback boom bap jams, and sultry straight-ahead soul music.

Bilal – Robots (Tensei Remix) feat. ADaD (MP3)

LA Times premiered the Tensei Remix for Bilal’s “Robots” which now features Chicago MC, ADAD. The premier was in support for Bilal’s show on Friday at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, as part of Bilal’s “Little One” Summer Tour taking Bilal all over the United States over a period of 2+ months.

Bilal on US Tour (plus Remix Album to ‘Airtight’s Revenge’)

Bilal is currently on a two month tour with his band hitting various markets across the United States in support of his latest release “Airtight’s Revenge.” (Plug Research). Bilal and band will be touching down in markets like Dallas, Houston, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego, Chicago, Cleveland, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and others.

Also, make sure to look out for an upcoming remix album to “Airtight’s Revenge.” The remix album will include various remixes from folks like Moodyman, Jake One, Black Milk, Exile, Little Louie Vega and many others and is scheduled to be released via Plug Research by year’s end.
