Red Bull Thre3style – Heat 1 Highlights & Contest (Video)

Red Bull’s Thre3style’s World Finals heats began it’s initial international auditory melee at Bar None, in Vancouver, Canada.  Of the 18 world qualifying DJ’s, the initial heat featured Norway’s FMC, Bolivia’s Javier Rossell, Australia’s DJ Perplex, and last year’s runner up Nedu Lopes of Brazil.  With the quartet of mix-masters eyeing a spot in the final heat to be held this Saturday, four equally jaw dropping performances had the audience whipped up into a frenzy.

On the surface, The Crystal Axis, the Midnight Juggernauts’ sophomore record, has all the same elements as their excellent debut Dystopia: various swooping and oceanic synths, cascading vocals and an appreciation for a good beat. The Good Vibrations Festival is a yearly week long festival, February 12th-21st, that takes place during Australia’s summer in the following cities: Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth. The artists for this years show were carefully handpicked and notably varied across the spectrum, ensuring a good time for a diverse crowd of all ages; where old school met its new school counterpart. This years festival was host to The Killers, Basement Jaxx, Armand Van Helden, Gossip, Salt-N-Pepa, Friendly Fries, Busta Rhymes, Z-Trip, Kid Cudi, Naughty By Nature, Plump DJs, Gym Class Heroes, Chase and Status, Craze, Dave Seaman, Chuckie, Art vs. Science, BlueJuice, Spinderella, Bass Kleph, Sam Obernik, KillaQueenz & Sydney Local Artists, all hosted my SlimKid3.

Creator of GVF, Justin Hemmes, made sure that there was never a dull moment for the concert goers or more honestly labeled – addicts of good music.The festival took place from early afternoon to late evening providing Aussies and tourists alike with an entire day filled with musical acts housed under five different tents, good food, and of course good drink!
