Tech N9ne Talks Paid Dues 2010 + 2009 Performances (Video)

Tecca Nina speaks to HHO about his experience at the 2009 Paid Dues festival, as well as what he’s looking forward to about this year’s event. I have to say, the energy during his performance last year was absolutely insane. You will never find an artist more dedicated to their fans than Tech N9ne. I remember leaving right after Atmosphere’s closing performance and peeping the fact that Tech’s booth was the only one still open. There was a huge line of people waiting to get autographs. He stayed and signed them all. That’s love.

As a bonus, after the jump I’ve got a few videos that I took of the 2009 Paid Dues performances (including Tech’s).

Via my spot.

Freeway & Jake One – The Stimulus Package (Review)

Freeway & Jake One

The Stimulus Package

Released by Rhymesayers

From a distance, the collaboration effort between the Philly based Freeway and Seattle producer Jake One may look a little strange. The pair did collaborate together on Jake’s 2008 release White Van Music, where they had one of the better tracks on the album. When viewed in that context, this pairing isn’t as unusual as it might seem. The two do have contrasting styles and backgrounds, so it’s safe to wonder how the pairing would work over a full album of songs.

Scribble Squabbles

Fans like Mildred Fallen and organizers like Mr. Dibbs cite G-Fresh’s departure after Scribble Jam 2000 as one of the reasons for the event’s decline. G-Fresh was instrumental in organizing the event from 1996 to 2000. As a music producer, DJ and popular radio personality, his business sense and industry connections helped bring in artists from all over the country in the Jam’s early years.
