URB founder Raymond Roker made his way to Philly this weekend to get backstage at the second annual Roots Picnic, which featured a who’s who of stars, including Santigold, Asher Roth, TV on the Radio and headliners Public Enemy performing It Takes A Nation of Millions back by The Roots and Antibalas Orchestra.

Wale and Sitek have completed two tracks together. Antibalas alums Stuart Bogie and Todd Simon play horns on the tracks, while Breakestra’s Dave Chegwidden plays congos. Rock star poet Saul Williams May handle the hook on one, and TVOTR frontman Tunde Adebimpe May sing on the other. Tre, frontman for the go-go band UCB (also doing some work with Sitek, according to Wale’s manager) helped with melodies and horn arrangements.
A Benefit concert for notable music producer and engineer, Scott Hardy, will be held on Mar 19th at the Highline Ballroom in NYC. While a passenger in a car service after a late night mix session, the car Scott was in was hit and crushed his T5 vertebrae leaving him partially paralyzed. Like many other Americans, Scott is without health insurance and is facing a great amount of medical and legal fees.
