We don’t usually like to post snippet tracks here at URB. If we want to hear just part of a song, we’ll go listen to a DJ. But let’s be honest, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke appear on two new songs by Berlin broken techno duo Modeselektor’s new album is kinda a big deal. And if you don’t get it here, you’re just gonna score your snippets on the street.
File under hip-hop we actually care about, pt 2 (still not talking about the Grammys edition). Our friends over at Self-Titled Mag scored themselves the exclusive stream of Anti-Pop verbal conflabulator Beans‘ new album, End It All. The record drops tomorrow on Anticon, and features production by Four Tet, Nobody, Bumps (of Tortoise), Tobacco, and more. We’ve already heard TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe supplying vocals on first single, “Mellow You Out.”

The one upside of TV on the Radio’s hiatus is that we’ve been able to hear different sides of all TVotR memebers in various projects over the past few years. We’re not holding our breath to hear Dave Sitek’s work with Janes Addiction, but Tunde Adebimpe joining with Antipop Consirtium vet Beans on his latest solo album is something worth getting excited about.
“Mellow You Out” is the second song we’ve heard off of End It All, due for release February 15 via Anticon. Check out the first selection, “Daethsweater” here.

We’re not exactly sure what a deathsweater is, but if you understood everything coming out of the mouth of Beans on his solo joints or as one-third of Anti-Pop Consortium, well then, you’re smarter than the rest of us. The DJ Nobody produced “Deathsweater” comes off of Beans’ forthcoming third solo album, End It All, due ot Februrary 15 on Anticon.
It’s been six years since Beans hit us with the double barrel of albums Tomorrow Right Now (2003) and Shock City Maverick (2004). Now the member of Antipop Consortium is back in the solo saddle with End It All due out in February. The album features guest vocals by Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio, as well as production from Four Tet, Clark, Tobacco, Nobody, Son Lux, Interpol’s Sam Fogarino, and Bumps (the drum section from Tortoise). No word on if Beans is still jocking the porn and anal sex lyrical steez, but with his mile a minute flow, it’s hard to tell anyways. …MORE
