Aloe Blacc

Good Things

Released by Stones Throw

Stones Throw multitasker and host of L.A’s best party (Do-Over), Aloe Blacc, is making a big splash with his second solo album.  He seemingly came out of nowhere earlier this year with his recession anthem "I Need a Dollar;" which is the theme song of the underrated HBO show "How to Make It in America." The Miguel Atwood-Ferguon Ensemble x Aloe Blacc’s Tribute to Guru + Deliver the Word (Video & MP3)

Here’s the final and 3rd video from the recent free event by The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble in Los Angeles, CA.  Hopefully by now, you’ve checked the previous two videos, one featuring Bilal, and the other featuring Flying Lotus.  Backed by some of today’s best musicians, including Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave on drums and Stephen ‘Thundercat’ Bruner on bass, The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble’s performance was truly as special moment for Los Angeles.

Never one to be dull, Exile and compadres bring new life to the familiar soundscapes that were found on Radio. If you had ...

Initially, this ...

Mulatu Astatke – Yekermo Sew (Te’Amir Remix) (MP3)

Timeless somehow doesn’t need to be remixed.   However, it was always intended to be an inclusive multi-generational project, and commissioning remixes of Timeless allows exploration of new options for these amazing performances.  The first of three exclusive remixes is by a group of young musicians from Los Angeles called Te’Amir, named after the group’s leader. …MORE
