PREMIER The Magician ft Jeppe :: “I Don’t Know What To Do” (Plastic Plates Remix) (MP3)

It certainly takes supernatural powers to leave one of the most successful nu-disco outfits on the planet (Aeroplane) and strike out on your own, but that’s exactly what Stephen Fasan (aka The Magician) did in 2009, starting with a series of mixtape, the Magic Tapes, followed by a remix of Lykke Li and a meet-up with Yuksek (aka Peter in Peter & The Magician) titled “Twist,” all of which kept the dance floor simmering.

Fasan is finally about to release his first proper single, “I Don’t Know What To Do,” which features the Simon Le Bon-meets-Roland Orzabel (ie- very ’80s British) punch of vocalist Jeppe. The single is out October 3 on Kitsune, and features remixes by Fabian and Plastic Plates, the latter of which you can stream after the jump. …MORE

Classix Remix Madonna “Lucky Star” (MP3)

Here’s a last minute entry into the weekend playlist. If you can tear yourself away from listening to the new Radiohead for a minute (how many times can you repeat eight songs?), might we recommend this nice edit of Madonna’s “Lucky Star” by LA’s own Classixx. If you’re not yet up on Tyler and Michael, these guys are creating some nice disco touches that make them America’s best answer to Aeroplane. They have a new single coming out on Green Label Sound soon, which ou crystal ball is predicting you will be hearing much of on dance floors in Austin and Miami next month.
