Apparently, the new Justice track, “CIVILIZATION,” was used by director Roman Gavaras as the soundtrack for an advertisement he shot for Adidas. Garvas of course did the promotional clip for Justice’s “Stress,” so it all seems plausible. So in other words, you can kinda hear the new Justice song already, if you can tune out the thumps and grunts and sneaker squeaks of the audio rip taken from the commercial.
Music’s most recognized robots (sorry Kraftwerk) have now partnered with the world’s most recognized brand, Coca-Cola, for a limited edition series of gold and silver bottles to be made available in French clubs, and in limited qualities at Paris fashion temple, Collette. It’s the latest move by Daft Punk in what is clearly an ambition to become the world’s most famous robots, period. Of course, it’s gonna take more than single country ad campaign to topple reigning champions R2-D2 and C-3Po, but given this 2009 Addidas ad, their intentions seem clear.
Publicidad Adidas / Star Wars from R. Giskard Reventlov on Vimeo.
Fresh to death for 2010, adidas Originals is rolling out a Star Wars collection of kicks and gear. With this video, I would buy anything they were selling… so, good work. Tastemakers from Snoop to David Beckham, Calle 13, DJ Neil Armstrong and Daft Punk are all in this commercial. A real geek will notice the remixed Imperial March.

Is there a sport that Adidas doesn’t try and cover? I must admit it does seem a bit strange that the iconic shoemaker has a skate team but one quick look at the clip and you’ll see that they don’t play. When Adidas busts out a pair of Sambas for a North American dart tournament then I just might be in shock. Peep Mr. Dassler’s crew, including Mark Gonzales, Benny Fairfax, Tim O’Connor, and Dave Bachinsky, reppin’ San Francisco large.
