In part 2 of our interview with the author of The Big Payback, Dan Charnas discusses his interesting quote with The Fader: “Historically, when hip hop won, it did so because it was willing and able to go outside the power structure and established modes of communication, and create new ones.” The video further discusses if he thinks hip hop blogs are the new modes of communication that is pushing the culture and the interviewer challenges his Complex List, in which he said 50 Cent’s Vitamin Water deal was the biggest in hip hop.
