Good things come to those who wait, huh? About a year ago, I remember wishing the almighty two-in-one combo of 2562/A Made Up Sound would do a mix for URB; that unfortunately didn’t happen, so time went on doing its thing. Then one day, this mix showed up courtesy of 2562 and the lovely people at Fabric. Blending techno, house, and “future-bass”, 2562/AMUS is a technically sound and superb selective DJ, and along with a quick Q/A, he gave URB something to be happy about going into the holidays. He’ll also be playing an epic night at Fabric in London tomorrow night. Details on the night, the Q/A and the mix link after the jump. Enjoy…

The quintessential experimental bass bin that is Dub War is back again this week for another night that will shake your soul. Taking place at the confines of club Love, this week’s edition will feature UK-based dubstep-turned-funky don Geiom and NY-based garage beat artiste FaltyDL on the bill. Along with residents Joe Nice, Dave Q and Incyde, the night will be full of surprises from every which way and bass-fueled genre imaginable. To commemorate the upcoming event, Incyde, one of our favorite resident DJs (possibly ever) has put together an exclusive mix of upcoming releases, excellent dubs and material from the artists on the bill. Crank the sub to 11, it’s going to be a vivid journey of bass excellence. More info on the party, tracklist and download link below.

The dancefloor is an ever-changing world that twists and turns night by night. With so many different rhythms taking over parts of the world, it’s becoming increasingly challenging for DJs to put things together fluidly in sets. Enter producer and DJ Martyn. Born in the Netherlands and based in Washington, D.C., he spins a clever of mix of everything from classic New York house and Detroit techno into “post-dubstep” and funky tunes. Melding his own “Martyn music” with the current sounds of mutated dubstep, extraterrestrial funky house and tribal drums, Martyn makes sure his tunes are just as immersive as his DJ sets. When he was approached to do Fabric 50, he took the idea of shifting the mix into his own mind and putting out the sounds he loves. Needless to say, Martyn is a fantastic DJ and producer, and makes sure whoever is listening will hear a history of music–not just the now. He took some time to speak with URB about his current musical endeavors, his love for classic tunes and how he’s never been to Detroit–until DEMF 2010, of course.
