HARD NYC Set Times (Exclusive)

Here at URB HQ, we’re presenting this with tears in our eyes. Following M.I.A.’s canceled HARD LA event, and the announcement of Virgin Free Fest with M.I.A. in September in Maryland, it seems like suddenly the East Coast has got us beat hands town on the festival tip. They sure do this weekend, with HARD NYC with M.I.A. going off on Governors Island on Saturday. Ticket sales have been a lot better than the LA version of the event, but there’s still some to be had at www.hardfest.com.

So we’re happy for you guys back east, really. We don’t at all hope you choke on a corndog stick while moshing to Sleigh Bells. Nope. Not at alllllllll.

10 Electric Daisy Carnival DJs Not To Miss

With an estimated attendance approaching 200,000 people over two days, Electric Daisy Carnival 2010 is undeniably America’s biggest party. And as always with festivals like this, you miss more than you catch. URB wants to help you make sure that you at least witness a few awesome acts from our point of view. If you only see 10 out of 80+ DJs hitting the decks this weekend, we recommend you make these folks your first stop.

Deadmau5 (Friday 12:45AM – 2:00AM / kineticFIELD)

Let’s just be real, the mighty mau5 is the biggest American dance act on the planet right now—wowing even a wide-pulpiled Danny Devito at this year’s Coachella. His stage show is impressive, even to our LED fatigued eyes, and his tunes—he only plays his own jams—manage to rock the masses without pandering to dance music’s more mainstream habits.

Electric Daisy Carnival Set Times Announced

T-Minus 01 Day, 19 Hours, 25 Minutes, 34, Sec..33…32… until the first DJs hit the decks for Electric Daisy Carnival 2010. All that’s left to do is insert the Dr.Scholls gels into the old dancing kicks and get ready to rock. EDC finally put out the ful schedule, so you can start griping over the impossible choice between Z-Trip an Spank Rock. One word of advise. At a party this big, you wanna make your decision and stick with it. Try to see too many DJs and you’ll spend your whole day running instead of raving. …MORE

SXSW Day Two Recap: Dropping The Bombs To Dropping The Funk

A variety of sounds stream within a day's travel in Texas.

As the sun shined along the sunny streets of Austin for the 2nd day of SXSW, the noticeable trend of Sixth Street shenanigans were multiplying rapidly. Jugglers, free-huggers and bands setting up on every street corner were appearing amongst the thousands of patrons walking through the controlled chaos. Straying away from the eventual headache, the Levi’s FADER Fort once again became a hub for bloggers, writers and media as a clubhouse to keep the chaos away. It also turned out to be a bit better than the first day there.

The combination of a perfect sunny day, chilled beverages and great music are a classic amongst many concertgoers. All of that was fulfilled with a greater emphasis on music, as Local …
