Four to five years ago, there was a thriving post-hardcore juggernaut plowing through the angst clad youth in high-schools nationwide. But, alas, the mediocrity of countless wannabe bands has eroded a once lush genre. Thankfully, there are still kids deeply entrenched in those roots sprouting progression. I Set My Friends On Fire is the epitome of said statement. Fusing gut-birthed shrieks, melodic rock vocals, and a musical dexterity rarely seen in the post-hardcore genre. Case in point: covering Soulja Boy's "Crank that." The wiry Miami duo is not only setting fire to their friends, but to the nostalgic hearts of many a hardcore-kid.
