Mike-E :: Get Into This

Afroflow

Ethopian born Mike-E has just about every good samaritan qualification under his belt (philanthropist, social activist, etc.). A regular on HBO's Def Poetry Jam, Mike-E is fusing boom bap hip hop with traditional Ethiopian music. When he's not helping kids in the Detroit public system, respecting women, or creating songs to raise funds for Barack Obama's presidential campaign, Mike is prowling the country with the American Cancer Society to raise cancer awareness through his music. Talk about a stand up guy.

I was blown away by the amazing performance of Mike E and all of the members of AfroFlow. I especially appreciate the fact that their music had substance and meaning to it. Every word spoken was empowering and I believe will help make a difference in the lives of many people.

MIKE-E and the Afroflow crew are awesome. We saw them in Princess Anne , MD & at UMES.I love the way that they inter-act with the audience. My son who has mild autism was very timid around people until MIKE-E and the crew came to town. They invited people to come up on stage and dance. little DOUG-E has never been the same since. he dances and entertains everywhere we go. This opportunity was really a life changing moment for DOUG-E. Thanks guys for making a REAL DIFFERENCE. We can't wait til ya'll come back 2 town.

As a native of Ethiopian, and raised in the States, i am thrilled, inspired, motivated, proud to share similar culture with this articulate musician, teacher named Mike-e. His music and existance is a blessing to alot of us natives and to the many people in this world who could use education through powerful and influential music.He gets two thumbs up and five stars and definately deserves to be Next 1000 list. Go Mike-e keep doing what you doing. Ethio's all over are proud of you.

Mike E and Afroflow are the best kept secret out. I have had the pleasure of seeing Mike perform as an individual artists (even back then he thought big). I can remember that the last time I saw him perform by himself, he was sharing the vision that he had, which was Afroflow. The first time I experienced Mike-E and Afroflow, I was blown away. Please believe me when I say that it only gets better ever time after that. Mike and all of the guys that make up the Afroflow movement are a talent and a musical force to be dealt with. There is no one else out there doing it like this brother right now. All I have to say is Mike keep doing what you do and if Afroflow is coming to a town near you...then you need to make it your business to be there!!!!! Much continued success and don't forget about at your home away from home.

Mike-E's performances are electrifying and beyond his performances, his mission to educate us through his creative rap. Keep up your humanitarian work Mike, as it means so very much to all of us.

Mike E. and Afroflow is one of the best combinations of talent, humility and message I've seen in a while. If you ever get a chance to check him out in person, you should definitely take it!
