Georgia is no stranger to the music scene- especially when it comes to hip-hop. Imagine, if you will, what might happen if both of the Ying Yang Twins fused into a single organism and then took a bath in Andre 3000-esque eccentricity. The result may very well be Gripplyaz. Even though club bangers are not synonymous with creativity, this dude definitely puts his own spin on things. On one track, the dude is looping up a sitar riff and on another, he’s spitting rhymes over a piano-fueled, down tempo beat. Whoever says that club music has no variety (club rap at that) needs to check out Gripplyaz. He even spells it all out for you on his myspace page, “Hip-hop without Gripplyaz is like a toolbox without grip pliers. What the fuck you doin’ with a toolbox if you ain’t got no damn grip pliers? It just don’t make sense.” If this dude is not in your toolbox, you know what you have to do.
