There's something unique about this guy named Rob Rush. Upon first listening to his debut, Childhood Hero it's clear that this dude can rhyme. After second listen, Rush proves that he's more than just another white dude that can rap well. Don't get it twisted, this dude is off the wall when it comes to lyrical content. Perhaps borrowing from more than one of his childhood heroes, Rush displays his microphone abilities like Big Daddy Kane, supplying emotionally honest lyrics like Atmosphere, but also managing to be rebellious and socially conscious like Bad Religion, all providing personal look into the life that is Rob Rush. While there's no doubt that this album shows he's a vivid storyteller, and an intriguing person, so intriguing that perhaps one day Rob Rush will end up being one of those childhood heroes.

I love Rob Rush. His energy is what the music now lacks, why we have a industry of haters. Rob Rush for president.

Rush has a deep sense of rhythm that permeates throughout his tracks like few others. In a style where trash gets thrown into tracks all too often, all of Robs' sounds add to the song. That's saying something. That, together with his vulnerable and honest vocal delivery make Rob Rush an artist to watch out for.

Rob Rush makes every other rapper feel like a failure pile in a sadness bowl when he raps. Probably the best indie rap album, from start to finish, that i've heard this year (or last).
