Never underestimate the power of knowledge and hip-hop. Those two haven't shared the same sentence since the days of Gangstarr, Public Enemy, and NWA. It's group like those that further cemented that not only politically charged lyrics can not only encourage folks to pump their fists but also move the crowds. Continuing on the now waning trend that other knowledge conscious rappers have worked so hard on creating, Oakland rapper and Lunar Heights member, Spear of the Nation, aims to once again reveal that there's much more than banging beats. And of course there's no shortage of empowering lyrics. "Brothers still got a problem with the eye contact, yo they still got us on the front-lines in Iraq, everybody in the hood is either bitch or nigga, just imagine your town to get the picture clearer, Clear Channel tryin' to tell me that's what black folks mirror, still pullin' on the string in the name of skrilla," Spear spits in "Black Love." With everyone ballin' out of control nowadays, look for Spear of the Nation to spear balance back into the game when he drops this September.
