This week’s podcast comes from a venerable twosome that has created a tapestry of sounds that are almost Ghibli-esque in their execution. UK experimentalist Kidkanevil and Japanese sonic counterpoint Daisuke Tanabe, released an LP on Project Mooncircle back in Novemeber that is emotive, enigmatic and at times, innocent of all expectations.Judging by their previous work, the collaboration between these two has produced some of their most freeing music to date. Melding between breaks, IDM, hip-hop, dubstep, ambience and experimentalism, that exact audible reflection is thoughtfully found in their exclusive mix to URB. A welcome introduction to 2013 starts with a breath of fresh air, courtesy of Kidsuke. No tracklist here; just listen and enjoy.
With our final podcast of 2012 being a truly personal honor to share with you all, we give you the vibes of Jeremy Guindo aka Bambounou, at his finest. To say Bambounou took over this year would be an understatement, as not only did the Parisian producer have his most extensive year with releases, but he crossed over to the world of techno (just barely) with his debut LP, Orbiting, which was just released last month on Modeselektor’s 50WEAPONS imprint. Guindo is obviously looking towards the past and the future when it comes to his music and mixing, considering that this is the only beginning of an intriguing career for the young producer. And with the mix he’s given us to close out 2012 as well as our chat with him, we’re certainly looking forward to what’s coming up for Bambounou. Check out the mix, interview and tracklist down below.

This week’s podcast comes from the swing-centric vibe force of one Bobby Champs; currently providing a steady diet of dancefloor bombs (i.e “Brooklyn Bomb” on his Steve Martin EP for Hypercolour), Champs has been finding the comfortable niche between house, techno and bass music quite cozy, solidifying his penchant for banging and bumpin’ vibes while remaining true to the darkest and coolest vibes going around worldwide. With 2013 around the corner, we at URB are certainly anticipating what’s next for the producer, and judging by his podcast, we’re sure it’s going to be awesome.
