Locked Groove Exclusive Mix (Podcast)

LOCKED GROOVEExclusive MixIt has been a year of ascension for Tim Van de Meutter, the man behind the guise of Locked Groove. With whispers of the Belgian producer coming across airwaves and PAs worldwide beginning in 2011, he stepped out in strong fashion with his Rooted EP on Hotflush Recordings. Van de Meutter would take his time with next appearance on the label, with Keep It Simple showing his slow-mo house flex and attention to the many distincts flavors of the dance. He took a more ambitious step with his release on Montreal’s Turbo imprint, where he shifted his focus to a more straightforward, unabashed techno approach and solidified his status as an attentive and intuitiave producer for years to come. It’s fairly evident to see that Locked Groove is here to stay (and ready to break out faster and stronger) and with that notion in mind, we’ve asked him to contribute to URB’s podcast series with a special mix; so he gave us a crafty and vibey all-vinyl mix to boot. Check out the mix and tracklist after jump.

Skirt Exclusive Mix (Podcast)

SKIRT
Exclusive Mix

Bethany DeMoss has circumvented through the Southwest, the Navy and intercontinental drift to pave the way for her identity as Skirt; born in Texas and wading through the states of Arizona and California, DeMoss amassed her techno sensibilities and then made a voyage to Britain. After a stop in Ipswich, she moved to Birmingham where things changed entirely for her. Fast forward to 2012, where she has cemented herself as one of the most intriguing up-and-comers in the techno world; releasing tracks on Semantica and Horizontal Ground. Skirt’s future is certainly promising, with future tunes coming out on Frozen Border (parent label of Horizontal Ground) and Perc Trax (Perc’s label), URB thought it’d be a perfect time to highlight one of techno’s burgeoning producers. Petar Dundov
Exclusive Mix

This week’s podcast is a special live set from Croatian producer/DJ veteran Petar Dundov. We could wax on about his thorough history in the world of techno, as well as his sonic perceptions of the sound…but this mix really says it all. Dundov is eloquent in his delivery system; not saturating the mix with bombastic frequenices and enticing listeners with a story and new perspective to gain from the music he is playing. Consiering his latest LP, Ideas From The Pond was applauded for its sense of brightness and odes to classic analog influences, Dundov undoubtedly knows what he’s doing when it comes to feeling out a dancefloor. It’s evident in his contribution to URB’s podcast series, as this set was performed in his own country, in the city of Dubrovnik.
