After a significantly enduring hiatus, Temple came back to not only bring a thunderous set of tracks to R&S, but also became the first female producer on the label’s legendary roster within its 25+ year history. Her mix for URB is nothing short of amazing, showing that Temple has stayed incredibly sharp within her techno sensibilities; often melding Detroit, Berlin, and UK styles with hints of industrial chaos in the most seamless of fashions. Well, this is something we have been looking forward to. Initially, when we heard Marc Romboy and Ken Ishii were working together, we laughed at the possibility that both these techno titans would come together for a measly podcast. We couldn’t be happier that we’re wrong, as the Systematic Recordings kingpin and Japanese legend brought URB a tremendous mix that goes between past and present in seamless fashion.

Their collaborative album, Taiyo, is out this week on Systematic and promises to explore the grooves and textures that are laden within this mix, that features a couple of their. Somewhere within the vocals, productions and synth work of Sally Shapiro lies a wicked DJ. We at URB knew this from the moment we heard Disco Romance way back, and were intrigued at the prospect of a Sally Shapiro mix. Well, lo and behold, in anticipation for their new album, Somewhere Else coming out on February 26th on Paper Bag Records, the twosome gave us a great mix thats equal parts groovy and eclectic.
