Best of '08: DJ Benzi's Top 10 Singles of 08

With mixtapes aplenty and a healthy club spinning schedule, Ann Arbor, worldwide DJ Benzi takes his job seriously. Here he dishes on which singles got the most play on his tables in 2008.
10. Chester French "She Loves Everbody" I discovered these guys by accident, going to their first show in NYC earlier this year and I have been rocking "She Loves Everbody" constantly since. Look for some Chester French x Benzi joints to surface next year.
09. Crookers feat. Kid Cudi "Embrace The Martian"
The lesser known of the Crookers x Cudi collabos this year is a super catchy slowed down b-moreish joint that never left my iPod all year. Look for some super dope remixes coming soon on Fools Gold as well!
08. T-Pain feat. Lil Wayne "Can't Believe It (B-Flat Remix)" T-Pain's huge lead single gets the super club treatment from the super young and super talented B-Flat. This remix instantly took off on the
"Motivation 2" mixtape and is still a constant in all my sets. Look for tons of Benzi x B-Flat collabos coming in 2009!
07. Paper Route Recordz feat. Blaqstarr "Stuntastic"
This joint off the now classic "Fear & Loathing In Hunts Vegas" mixtape, and came to fruition when we needed a few more joints to fill the project. Little did I know that such a banger would come from those last minute sessions but the appeal of this song is unresistable!
06. Young Jeezy feat. Kanye West "Put On"This huge anthem from Jeezy and Yeezy was eveerrry where this year. Although I love and can recite both of Jeezy's verses, Kanye steals the show with his highlight reel like verse and flow.
05. Donnis "Party Works"
My man my mello Donnis holds down the #5 spot with the anthem "Party Works." We played this joint at every show throughout the year and no matter where we were it popped off. Look for more from Mr. Donnis Crump in 2009!
04. Santogold "L.E.S. Artistes (XXXChange Remix)"2008 was the year of Santi White and I found myself listening to her album on repeat. The lead single was instant catchy but Alex XXXchange's remix added that hip-hoppy element that was lacking on the poppy normal version. This joint will stand the test of time and still is that jam.
03. John Legend & Andre 3000 "Green Light"
This super comeback single from John Legend was a hit to me the first time i heard it. Anything over 140 BPMs is music to my ears and adding Andre Benjamin to the mix is icing on the cake. Diplo's remix on the import CD single is that jam too!
02. MGMT "Electric Feel"The Weselyn grads grabbed everyones attention with this super catchy pop banger. The appeal of this joint is undeniable and I've found myself ending many shows with it as I pack my shit up.
01. Kid Dudi "Day N Nite" (Fools Gold / G.O.O.D. Music)The obvious choice for single of the year. Cudi's infectious melody carried this joint from underground sleeper to mainstream smash hit throughout 2008. The fact that the Crooker's flipped the OG doesn't hurt and people need to not sleep on the Jokers On the Scene remix also on the single.
