Jason Bentley: KCRW's New Music Director
I'm definately in a ravey mood as of late. The X-Mix series of mix CD's and accompanying DVDs were some of my first intros to techno music in the mid-90's. And the Garnier edition was a personal fave. I thought of this becaus I heard news that he'll be releasing a new album this Spring. I kinda hope it sounds like some old-school '90s Detroit influenced techno. I'm pretty sure that's still his steez.
Eitherway, these tracks are still pretty awesome, and the vintage CGI video is worth a chuckle.

Garnier's X-Mix remains a total classic, and probably the best video in the series. The Deep Space Radio Mix by Kevin "Master Reese" Saunderson is my favorite, audio-wise. Still trying to find Chocolate City's "Love Song" on vinyl. The sax bit Saunderson drops from that choon is so damn beautiful.
