Radiohead's 'Nude' played with really old computer parts

Posted Wednesday, June 18, 2008 @ 06:17 in Music by Som Khamsaysoury

Big Ideas (don't get any) from James Houston on Vimeo.

A couple of weeks ago Radiohead held a competition where folks can remix the song "Nude" off of their latest album In Rainbows, which seemingly sparked a light bulb above James Houston's head. A student of the Glasgow School of Art, Houston basically took the concept to a new level by remixing the track using nothing but dated computer parts. Unfortunately, the dude missed the deadline for the contest, but it's still all good. His weapons of choice:

Sinclair ZX Spectrum - Guitars (rhythm & lead)
Epson LX-81 Dot Matrix Printer - Drums
HP Scanjet 3c - Bass Guitar
Hard Drive array - Act as a collection of bad speakers - Vocals & FX

Just skip to around the 1:09 second mark for it to get it started, unless static and all kinds of other blips and bleeps is your thing.
