Fresh Rhymes That Glow In The Dark

June 3, 2008 (8:47 a.m. PST)
I wake up pretty early everyday. I'm usually up by 6:30 a.m. No, I'm not at my MP' making beats bright & early at the butt crack of dawn how I used to but rather changing my daughter Yoshe's wet diaper around this time & getting her breakfast together while my wife takes care of our newborn daughter Luca. Unfortunately today I'm in Seattle & Yoshe's in Harlem [insert sad face here]. So I'm up & the FIRST thing I do is grab my MacBook Pro & get my South Park fix for the morning. Afterwards I go to my bag to put together yet another fresh Polo Ralph Lauren Laguna outfit & I come to realize that my dumb-ass forgot to pack my underwear. *slaps forehead* Totally unrelated but I also realize that I hate walking around with cash & I had a big wad of it from last night's show pay. I immediately hit the computer to look for my business bank, my personal bank & my manager's bank to make deposits AND locate stores that would sell Polo underwear [my skin is allergic to all other designers' clothing - I break out in hives]. I hit the showers, get dressed then get that call from our tour manager Tim House that lobby call is at 11 o'clock. It's like 9:50 a.m. at this point but I don't panic. I just make a dash for it. Literally running around the overcast rainy city of Seattle (I chose not to take a cab because all of my findings were in the vicinity) & I try to knock out each errand one by one... Uh, no dice.

June 3, 2008 (10:53 p.m.)
Fast forward two hours ahead, back on the FRV tour bus, The Alchemist & Evidence (2 outstanding producers/m.c.'s) go back & forth with 2 MacBook Pros positioned back 2 back & playing incredible music... Battling. Not your typical producers' beat battle however but rather a battle of pure dope sh*t. Coming from the tiny computer speakers you heard everything from T La Rock to Norah Jones; From the new Alchemist produced Jadakiss joint (which many in the know have heard due to it's leak) to some ol' FONKY sh*t! (I wasn't told the names of any of super-dirty-slap-you-in-the-face-gems... for obvious reasons). *sobs* This goes on for about 40 minutes. I wish I had samples on deck to enter this battle but had I just jumped in, the only thing I would have been playing is: "mySELF". I have yet to transfer my vinly collection to my computer.

June 4, 2008 (About 12:15 a.m. & All Is Well)
Dilated's doing their last song on stage. The venue is jammed packed. I hear my name being called once again to grace the stage for a special encore performance. So I grab a mic & let the crowd know that I previously did a half-ass'd job of performing my song "Stay Up! (Viagra)" which is from my incredible upcoming debut album The Death of Adam. [*Note: No, seriously, it is rather incredible. Just you wait & see this coming September]. SO... I had to bring my guy out. Enter: Kanye2Tha. (Doesn't this look like a computer screen name? Things that make you go 'Hmmm'). Kanye & I tear the stage up & we do what we do like we're doing it for t.v. The Portlandites were petty much going ape sh*t @ this point. Next 'ye asks the crowd if he could do a quick verse acapella. Some new sh*t which was CRAZY. Next he rocks with Dilated Peoples on their song "This Way". What a night. Oh & I have to give a shout to the dude who gave me props outside at the end of the night. The dude thought I was Lupe because of the Polo Ralph Lauren glasses I wore... & the alcohol or other substance he must've been abusing.

Kanye and 88 Backstage
Going over the game plan.

Kanye
Dilated Peoples & Kanye West rap "This Way"

Kanye
Yeah, I rap on "Stay Up! (Viagra)" too.

ROB KARDASHIAN! I just remembered.

June 4, 2008 (11:18 a.m.)
Right now I'm chatting with my wife Krista via Sidekick while my best-friends DJ Killatouch of D-Block & Daniel Glogower of Skyscraper Management [who's also my manager] try to call me to get the scoop on my encore performance last night. It's not everyday an artist without even as much as a single out (yet) gets to rock a crowd with the #1 artist in the world right now (who also happens to be my best-friend as well). Y'know... All in a days work... STUNT!

Today we have a day off so maybe I could finally get some diggin' done, run my errands & cop some Polo boxers, a-neck shirts (which I refuse to call 'wife beaters') & socks. I feel grimey. Now would it be considered
t.m.i. if I told you I DON'T have any 'skid marks'?

Post Script: Happy belated birthday to my sister Mary, my brother-in-law Blair & my nephew Philip... All born on June 2nd. I'll call you all this afternoon.

I'll hit the Urb Magazine Blogs up a little later. Let's see what I can get into on my day off.

Aight... Love, Peace & Punani!
