Daft Punk in studio, Pedro out as manager

Ed Banger records head Pedro Winters has stepped down from managing Daft Punk to concentrate on the label and his own musical career as Busy P. But that didn't stop him from dropping a serious robot bomb on Aussie electronic site InTheMix.

"The boys are in a studio in Paris at the moment,” Winters revealed to ITM. “And I can’t wait to listen to their new stuff! The good thing is that they are making music at the moment."

Here's hoping the new album is a bit, um, "stronger" than 2005's Human After All. Then again, those songs sounded pretty sweet when played atop a giant pyramid. And lots of people hated Discovery when it first came out as well. So here's hoping Daft Punk makes a crappy album that is deemed great over time.

Maybe I'm just a fanboy but I don't I've ever heard anything crappy out of Daft Punk (unless you count that Kanye crap remix)
