Nas wusses out.

Nas wusses out.

After the 500 interviews Nas has given over the past few weeks (including our cover story, currently on newsstands), Mr. Jones finally buckled under the apparent pressure of controversy. According to EW.com, he's changed the title from the veritable "fuck you" that it was, to something that just kinda fucks himself. From Nigger to just plain Nas.

There are two ways to look at this: (1) Perhaps, Nas's work didn't reach the level of insight the album's title required, in which case this might just be a good thing or (2) This is another case of corporate America being afraid to open the flood gates by stepping on a few toes, which is the same old loss for everyone trying to make a dollar out of 15 cents.

Fuck it, we'll always no what the true title of the album is. Yeah, it sucks that to the rest of the general public, they'll be blind to the fact of the real meaning but to the REAL heads, we no it for what it really is. Fuck it, if corporate America is to afraid of sales loss, they should be used to it by the state of the recording industry and i'll give them a 'fuck you' by burning the shit and naming it NIGGER, nigga! Although, he could've just gone independent..

First of all, why would he call it that in the first place? NIGGER will never be a good word no matter who uses it. It makes black people look like they're ignoring the history of the word and makes white people think it's okay for them to use it. NIGGER can never be uplifiting or a term of endearment. There's a lot of other words in this world.

thiz iz a good move 4 naz. i waz going 2 boycott the lp, cuz from the songz(4) i heard the content didn't critacally addrezz the n-word. those songz only helped 2 glaomrize a very ugly word. i'm glad naz came 2 hiz senses, especially after that failed grammy interview by cnn.that old lp title waz a str8 marketing ploy that thankfully backfired. remember the N.A.A.C.p. banned the word 4 a reason. y do Blackz have 2 b 1z 2 dehumanize and belittle themselvez, no other ethnic group doez that!!! R.I.P. 2 Camu Tao of the weathermen...
