HARD Summer Festival: A Primer

The Zoo York Institute, New Era, the Harold Hunter Foundation, and the KCDC Skateshop announce the 2nd Annual Harold Hunter Day set for May 17th in New York City. Harold Hunter Day II plans to commemorate Harold’s amazing life with a day of positivity and skate jamming bringing together his native NYC skateboarding scene.
After his death in 2006, and in the spirit of the first Harold Hunter Day, May 17th will be a celebration of the things he loved and lived most – skateboarding, music, good times, and New York. HH Day II will be a day for his friends and New Yorkers to epitomize his infectious and inspiring spirit. (Us L.A. folk are jealous!)
Harold Hunter Day II will kick off at the Skatepark underneath the Manhattan Bridge at the corner of Pike and Monroe in Chinatown. From noon until 6pm there will be an all ages skate jam with live music from NYC DJs (including Pete Rock) and a product toss (I’m assuming some pretty sweet Zoo York and New Era shit.) Afterwards, there will be a special 21+ party at the KCDC Skateshop in Williamsburg from 8pm until midnight—featuring free drinks, some more live music, an art installation by Cinik, and a slide show of Harold by photographer Giovanni Reda.
Watch Harold skate through the NYC urban jungle on a Zoo mixtape here.
