Resurrecting yesterday at the Internet Rave Archive

Resurrecting yesterday at the Internet Rave Archive

Can’t remember who headlined the first Storm Rave? Look up the flyer on The Archive. Want to hear Daft Punk’s now legendary set from Further ’96? The Archive’s got you covered. Want to read the first issue of Massive Magazine? Again, check The Archive. Want to put that box of flyers, mixtapes and zines taking up space in your closet to good use? Send them to The Archive.

It all started as one man’s mission to preserve the old rave zines he had sitting around, but Chicago scene mainstay Dan Komando’s dream is now all grown up. His Internet Rave Archive is ballooning with zines, flyers and an ever more robust collection of classic sets and mixtapes. You’ve gotta log in to see those, but they’ve already got classics from Daft Punk, Claude Young, Danny the Wildchild, Hyperactive, Spun, Frankie Bones and way too many others to name.

Focused on the 1990s US rave scene, the site accepts all content in any way related. Komando and crew are busy scanning and ripping the materials sent their way thus far, and they’re always on the lookout for more content to archive. The site is set up to be as much about the users as the materials it collects. Comments can be dropped just about anywhere you click and they’ve now got a link for users to upload their own goods.

If you were a part of the 90s rave world, something on this site will trigger nostalgia for the excitement for that 4 a.m. long ago when you heard those beats you still can’t get out of your head.
