After catching wind of a fight that had gone on during a Dead Prez concert at Evergreen State College, an officer arrested a student for investigation of misdemeanor assault. With the car surrounded and damn near blocked off, anywhere from 200-500 (depending on the source) students demanded that he be let go. Once the man was released, a deputy's car was flipped over and vandalized by the rowdy group. According to www.komotv.com, the female officer who had arrested/let go of the suspect was immediately sprayed in the face with pepper spray after the student's release. For more details, you can also go here. Or..any other place on the web for that matter. It's supposedly already up on Wikipedia too. Here's the video of what happens when a bunch of white kids get hyped up on Dead Prez:

Great job hanging in and keeping the camera on with poise in the presence of police and a crowd. Evergreen and its radio station have a long-standing tradition of independent-minded thought. Would love to see the update, and prequel -- what happened?

I didn't need to watch more than 2 minutes of this to see that everybody there was acting like a bunch of idiots. Especially the super smart one taking the video impressing her friends by her threats of recording all the fucking license plates, ya know. C'mon! You're in college now. Grow up. Oh wait! The cop was being racist...right? How about the annoying bitch in the front of the crowd shouting, "let him go, let him go..." Retards!

It just too bad that these "educated" college students don't understand the rule of law. They broke the law when they decided to act like a bunch of hodlums. Now they have to pay for their stupid actions. Someday they will realize that bneing young and dumb does not excuse them from paying the consequences.

I am a student at Evergreen. I was so pissed off after this crap, along with most of the campus. It defamed my college and, by extension, myself and my peers. Most students are very mild and forward thinking. The community of Olympia is honestly more inclined to this bullshit than your average Greener. Not surprisingly, a lot of the outside community was at the concert. So the sequel: the vasy majority of the students were very pissed off and felt very ashamed to be branded with such idiotic behavior. Tons of anti-cop and anti-establishment childish bullshit graffiti broke out over the rest of the academic year costing everyone tons of money. Everyone got more pissed, then thankfully it kind of died down.
