Minimum-Maximum Sampler

Released by EMI

I purchased a copy of this in Seattle, thinking that it was just a twelve-inch of the original, unstoppable single. However, once I arrived home and put it on the deck in my bedroom, I soon realized that it was in fact a live version of the same thing. At first I was disappointed, but soon found that the depth and intensity of this recording severely trumps the original. Whenever I play it out in a club, dancers in the room tend to have the same reactions as the ...

Flash (Timo Maas' Dirty Dub)

Released by F-111

In my opinion, 'Flash' is one of the greatest dance tracks ever made, partially because there is no attempt at melodic content, making its already strange personality even stranger. The chorus refrain of 'cameras ready, prepare to flash,' used to get stuck in my head for days, but I was completely unaware of its lyrical content for quite some time--just conscious of the general cadence. Happy House (D. Funked Remix By Dexter)

Released by Virgin

Outerspace

Released by SighCo Recordings

Konsta at it again on his own imprint for round three, tearing it out again on both sides. The flip however, 'Outerspace', is the killer of the two. Spacey orchestration and samples lead the intro into the massive drop 'Iron Tune' style only about 20 times heavier. Dark bassline call and responding with sinister pads and keys dipping in and out of a funky bass workout. Madness!
