STREAM John Peel Album Archive Launches (MP3)

Famed Radio One DJ John Peel spent his entire career turning UK listeners on to some of the best and most obscure music being made. So as you can imagine, the man’s personal album collection was full of all sorts of rare goodies at the time of his death in 2004. Eight years later, the BBC/Arts Council has seen fit to start posting all of the music from Peel’s formidable 25,000 album and 40,000 singles collection online. The first 100 albums came online yesterday (from Absturzende Brieftauben to Adam and the Ants) and you can check them all out at thespace.org. The actual streaming is mainly done via Spotify, so you’ll need an account with them as well.
