Oh boy, oh joy. Some of the best artists out of the US meet one of the shining stars coming out of the UK. Local gifts Braille (Hotflush/Rush Hour), Contakt (Local Action), and Laurel Halo (Hippos In Tanks) join California’s hottest beat-making export Shlomo, along with the featured guest, URB favorite xxxy (Orca, Ten Thousand Yen). Needless to say it’s going be a HUGE night with sounds ranging from vibe-heavy beats to analogue love right down to some proper bass rhythm madness. The fun starts at 9PM and it won’t end until 4AM. Check out links for tickets (along with set-times) after the jump.

Kamau Baaqi is not your typical 19-year old. Relocating from Detroit to Abu Dhabi at an early age, the young man known as Darling Farah has ushered in a sound that’s disallowed in the United Arab Emirates, therefore all the music he makes goes somewhere else; something called the Internet. Enter 2011, where Darling Farah has released the sensually emotive Exxy EP on the fantastic Civil Music label. The release is a wave of lush techno and house grooves that make you eye that special someone across the club, locking eyes and letting nature take its course. Needless to say, that’s the type of music that everyone can all enjoy. With more releases in the pipeline as well as an upcoming relocation to London (where his sound will be more than welcomed), Darling Farah has all the right gears going for him. He gave URB an exclusive mix of solely his own productions for our Burnin’ Up series, and we’re more than excited we can share it with the world. London is calling, Kamau (as well as the rest of the world). Tracklist and download link after the jump.

Silkie is a fantastic anomaly in the world of 140BPM music; obviously a producer that’s deeply rooted within the creative peaks of dubstep, but also deeply inspired by things outside of the universe within the genre’s tempo. Even from year’s back, you can hear influences that go beyond the spectrum of dubstep, instead of highlighting the often-overused half-step drum pattern and mucking about, Silkie explored soul, funk and tribal influences. In his latest LP for Mala’s Deep Medi Musik imprint, Silkie pushes the boundaries of the city limits even further by taking more steps to collectively combat the idea of dubstep being a one-trick pony. There are dubstep producers and there’s producers like Silkie, and we’re lucky that he gave URB a few minutes of his time, as well an exclusive track to premiere. Oh man. Straight heat here coming from the minds of Brooklyn via Chicago dancefloor king Brenmar and Atlanta bass guru Distal. Brenmar’s been on a roll lately, putting out a stunning release on Discobelle a while back and pounding out remix after remix, and by next week his second EP, Let Me Know (Tasting) will be released worldwide on Sinden’s fantastic Grizzly label (available for pre-order HERE). To commemorate the upcoming release, we have an amazing remix provided by Distal, who’s having a monumental 2011 already with releases on Surefire Sound and Fortified Audio (with more to come soon) and an URB mix coming very soon. Check out his juketastic remix of “So High” down below after the jump.

It’s already enough that URB is pretty much stationed in NYC throughout the weekend, and with there being so much to do, one could forget about the gems all about Brooklyn that are popping off. Enter a night put together by the Popgun crew and Dovecote Creative, highlighting the talents of Club Cheval’s golden son Canblaster, Barcelona’s John Talabot, DJ True Panther, FIXED NYC staple JDH and last but not least, Dovecote’s own Hard Mix. To top it all off, there’s an open vodka bar brought to you by the good folks at Reyka Vodka. For how to get tickets along with more info, check out the flyer after the jump.
